Overview of treatment options
Modern acne treatment is tailored to the individual’s skin type and the severity of the condition. It involves the use of medicated creams, anti-inflammatory agents and – in cases of more severe acne – systemic treatments. In addition, modern dermatological procedures such as fruit acid treatments, medical deep cleansing or light- and laser-based therapies can improve the appearance of the skin.
Proper skincare also plays an important role. The aim of treatment is to achieve a lasting improvement in the skin and to prevent acne scarring.
Did you know?
Acne is not caused by poor hygiene. Frequent or harsh cleansing can actually irritate the skin further and exacerbate inflammation.
